For those unfamiliar with sunstone gems, this mineral is a recent find in the gem world from Oregon. There are only 2 mines where this shimmering stone can be found. The sparkling shimmering effect is due to copper in the mineral composition which the light reflects outside as the light bounces around inside the gem and creates this dazzling effect that the gems do not produce. One of our new favorites at the studio and sure to make everyone turn their heads.
